Baseball has one of the most documented histories in sports. This will have to be a multi-part post due the large amount of data that has been collected on baseball.
The history of baseball in the United States can be traced to the 18th century. A baseball-like game by their own informal rules using improvised equipment. Making up the game as we go along were we. The popularity of the sport created a need for professional baseball clubs by the 1860s. Sweet, getting payed to play a game.
The earliest known mention of baseball in the United States was a 1791 ordinance banning the playing of the baseball game within 80 yards of the town meeting house in the city of Pittsfield, Massachusetts.
One of the first teams to play baseball under a modern rules were the New York Knickerbockers. Alexander Cartwright, formulated the “Knickerbocker Rules”, which in large part dealt with organizational matters but which also laid out rules for playing the game.

Covering the history of early Basketball.
Basketball was invented in around 1891 by James Naismith. This new game was introduced by Naismith while he was an instructor at the Young Men’s Christian Association Training School in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Naismith organized a recreational game that was suitable for playing indoor during the cold winters of Massachusetts. The first try at having Teams in basketball included nine players on each side and their goals were wooden peach baskets affixed to the walls. It was not until the mid 1897 that the game was standardized with five players on each team.
The first college games happened in New York City’s Madison Square Garden 1934.
The 1950s saw basketball starting to becom a major college sport.
The 1960′s saw the surge of basketball being played by on a professional level.
The first pro league the National Basketball League started in 1898 lasted 5 years.
The Original Celtics, organized about 1915 in New York City.
The Harlem Globetrotters founded in 1927.
1949 saw the merge of, the National Basketball League and the Basketball Association of America to create what we currently know as the NBA(National Basketball Association).
In 1959 a Basketball Hall of Fame was founded in Springfield, Massachusetts.
By the 1960s, pro teams from coast to coast played before crowds of many millions annually.

Football is in full swing. Never thought about it until the other day when someone asked me what football is.
Football is a competitive team sport that will combining strategy with physical play. The objective of football is to score the most points by getting the football into the opposing team’s end zone. The team with the most points in a time period of sixty minutes comes out the victor. The ball can be advanced by running with it or by throwing or passing it to your teammate. The winner of the game is the football team with the most points when the time expires.
Football is one of the most watched sports in the world.

The history of sports extends as far back as the existence of humans beings. Sport has been a useful way for people to increase their mastery of nature and the environment. Sports have also been used to train for war. The history of sport can teach us a great deal about social changes and about the nature of sport itself. Sport involves basic human skills being developed and exercised for the sake of what sport they are taking part in. It also shows how society has changed its beliefs and therefore there are changes in the game rules.
